SWEDISH RALLY - DAY 1
 
Sergio López-Fombona and his co-driver Guifré Pujol, finished the first leg of the Rally in 14th position in his PWRC class, a result that can be thought of as pleasing given the team RACC-Repsol-Mitsubishi targets. The most important goal of this very difficult first run of the series is to get as much experience as possible then to improve at the next events to be run over more familiar surfaces.
In fact Fombona surprised even his team because of the maturity he has shown which indicates his real potential. From 15th on the first special stage, he went on to finish 12th at the second (despite a slight off) and 13th at the long (more than 52 kms) third stage. On the second running of this stage, Fombona repeated his 13th position.
